Connectors conforming to the VHDCI standard are provided with an asymmetric cable entrance with respect to the center of the pin rows. However, there are cable assemblies available with symmetric VHDCI connectors, resulting in the effect that the plug partly overlaps the neighbouring VHDCI receptacle.
